Aegismax makes some of the best-value down sleeping bags for UK backpacking. The problem is the range: G Series, Nano 2, Wind Hard Dusk, Wind Hard Tiny and Wind Hard Tiny Pro all use 800-fill down, but they are built for different temperatures and different sleepers.
This guide compares the models by weight, EN rating and price, then explains which one to choose for summer, three-season and cold-weather camping.

How to read EN comfort and limit ratings
Sleeping bag ratings are usually given as an EN Comfort and an EN Limit. The Comfort rating is the temperature at which a cold sleeper — often a woman — should stay comfortable. The Limit rating is the lower temperature at which a warm sleeper — often a man — can survive a night without shivering.
For UK three-season camping, use the Comfort rating as your starting point. If you sleep cold, add a margin. If you sleep warm, the Limit rating may be more realistic. A sleeping pad with a suitable R-value is just as important as the bag: the ground will pull heat out of you even in a good sleeping bag.
Aegismax G Series: the all-rounder
The G Series is the safest choice for most UK three-season backpackers. It has an EN Comfort of +3°C and a Limit of -2°C, with 380–400 g of 800-fill down and a total weight of 762–818 g. It costs £145.
It is warmer than the Nano 2, but heavier. If you sleep cold or camp in spring and autumn, the extra down is worth it. If you mostly camp in summer, the Nano 2 is the better weight-to-warmth choice.
Aegismax Nano 2: the light 3-season option
The Nano 2 is the lightest three-season bag in this comparison. It has an EN Comfort of +5°C and a Limit of 0°C, with 350–400 g of 800-fill down and a total weight of 664–782 g. It costs £132.
For summer and mild three-season trips, the Nano 2 is an excellent value. It is not a cold-weather bag; if you sleep cold or plan to camp above the treeline in spring or autumn, choose the G Series instead.
Wind Hard Dusk: summer and fast-and-light
The Wind Hard Dusk is the ultralight option. It starts at 390 g for the Dusk Light variant, with 190 g of 800-fill down, and goes up to 540 g for the warmer Dusk versions. It costs £119.
The temperature rating depends on the variant: Dusk Light is around EN Comfort +10°C, Dusk is around +4°C, and Dusk II is around +1°C. Check the product page carefully before choosing, because the names are similar and the ratings are different.
This is a summer bag or a fast-and-light bag for warm trips. It is not a UK three-season bag for cold sleepers.
Wind Hard Tiny: wearable quilt
The Wind Hard Tiny is a wearable sleeping bag/quilt. It has 209 g of 800-fill down, weighs 496 g total, and is rated around EN Comfort +7°C / Limit +2°C. It costs £136.
It works well as a summer bag, a quilt for warm nights, or an extra layer for camp. It is not a replacement for a proper three-season bag in cold weather.
Wind Hard Tiny Pro: cold three-season
The Tiny Pro adds much more down: 550 g of 800-fill, a total weight of 835 g, and an EN Comfort of -2°C / Limit -8°C. It costs £149.
That is a serious cold-weather rating for the weight. If you camp in winter, or you sleep cold in spring and autumn, the Tiny Pro is the best value in the range. It is heavier than the Nano 2 and G Series, but it is warmer.
Ultra Future: winter value
The Ultra Future has 520 g of 800-fill down, a total weight of 932 g, and an EN Comfort of 0°C / Limit -5°C. It costs £146.
It sits between the Tiny Pro and the more expensive expedition bags. For cold UK trips and winter bothies, it is a sensible value option. It is not a -20°C expedition bag.
Which Aegismax for UK 3-season camping?
- Best all-round: G Series — Comfort +3°C, 762–818 g, £145.
- Best for weight: Nano 2 — Comfort +5°C, 664–782 g, £132.
- Summer only: Wind Hard Dusk or Tiny — lighter, but not for cold nights.
- Cold sleeper / winter: Tiny Pro or Ultra Future.
If you are unsure, choose the G Series. It is the most versatile bag for UK spring-to-autumn camping, and it leaves a margin for cold nights. If you already have a warm pad and sleep warm, the Nano 2 saves weight and money.

FAQ
Is 800 fill power good for a sleeping bag?
Yes. 800FP down is a high-quality fill that gives a good warmth-to-weight ratio and packs down small. The Aegismax range uses 800FP down across most models.
What is the difference between EN Comfort and EN Limit?
EN Comfort is the temperature at which a cold sleeper should stay comfortable. EN Limit is the lower temperature at which a warm sleeper can survive the night. Use Comfort for UK three-season planning, especially if you sleep cold.
Can I use an Aegismax bag in winter?
Only the warmer models. The Tiny Pro (Comfort -2°C) and Ultra Future (Comfort 0°C) are suitable for cold conditions. The Nano 2 and Dusk are summer/three-season bags, not winter bags.
Do I need a sleeping pad with an Aegismax bag?
Yes. A sleeping bag does not insulate you from the ground. Use a pad with an appropriate R-value for the season; the bag and pad work together.
Which Aegismax bag is best for a couple?
The G Series is the best all-round choice for couples camping in the UK. If both people sleep cold, choose the Tiny Pro. The bags can be used side by side, but they do not zip together unless the model supports it — check the product page.
Verdict
Aegismax is a strong value choice for UK backpackers, but the range is not interchangeable. Buy by EN Comfort rating, not by the model name.
- Best all-round: G Series — £145.
- Lightest 3-season: Nano 2 — £132.
- Summer: Wind Hard Dusk — £119.
- Cold: Wind Hard Tiny Pro — £149.
- Winter value: Ultra Future — £146.
