I have another manual chainsaw, but this one is far better. The saw is nice and sharp, it fits neatly into the pouch, and the straps make it very easy to hold and operate without getting sore hands. My old one has "T" handles that are uncomfortable and tiring to hold. I am very happy with this purchase and look forward to lots of time using it.

I was able to use this saw and 100 ft of paracord to drop a 9 inch Hackberry branch from about 40 feet up. Note that for this the branch must be fairly horizontal. There were several times that the saw got stuck, and I had to change my angle to get it moving again. In order to get the paracord around the limb I used a medium sized C clamp tied to one side and threw it from the roof. This was a tough job that took about 6 hours total but worth not paying $1000 to have the limb dropped by a tree service. The toughness of the saw was proven to me by how much stress I was able to put on the handles and chain when pulling on it to get it unstuck. In a regular ground application this job would have been much easier so overall a great saw.

Some people mentioned that it did not work as well as it should - the teeth are only one one side - make sure that you have them cutting the branch and not facing the other way - it worked great for two branches about 8-10" in diameter about 30 feet up - used it with some paracord and it worked like a charm!

I purchased this saw to use to clear trails when mountain biking. I had my first opportunity to use it yesterday.
I used the saw on an 8” diameter tree that had fallen. The saw worked but would bind when curved too tightly around the tree. When the blade was held straighter it cut right through the tree like a chainsaw.
Very impressed and you will be to.

Works really well, I tied long ropes to each handle, threw it over some high branches and trimmed my tree that way. My only complaint is that it would land upside down and obviously wouldn't cut that way. Would be great if half the teeth faced the opposite direction so it would cut on both sides.

I bought this for one job. I needed to trim a 4" diameter maple limb at a point about 20' up. This saw looked like it might do the job. I was lucky enough to get the saw chain rope rigged and oriented "cutters down" on the 1st try. By tying of one end of the rope off well away from the limb, the cutting angle was decreased so that binding was minimized at 1st. It was a slow process of walking back and forth and tugging on the rope line to produce the cut. As the saw kerf passed the center of the limb, the blades, as expected, began to jam in the kerf. At that point I roped the end of the limb and pulled. Success! the limb came down....on me. :) No injuries. Just a reminder to be careful and observant. This saw cuts well and seems pretty strong. I think its a great value for the money and a lot easier to carry than a saw.

I was worried by other reviews that made It seem that this could be hard to use or that it requires more strength. I am not very strong and it was a piece of cake to cut down a tree—about 6 inches in diameter—by myself! So much better than buying a full chainsaw!

I never owned a saw of any kind before this one. This year I have to buy a saw to cut the vines thicker than my clippers can handle. I searched on line for something compact for my small garage, luckily I found this thing, powerful, flexible, and portable! it was so easy to use, I had cut 2" thick branches in less than 3 min (I am a 120 lbs 5'7" mid-age bookworm, just for your reference).
BTW, Just be careful when handling the chain-saw: wear gloves and long sleeves....the teeth are sharp....it is a really good tool, don't forget it.

You have to size the limb you intend to cut accordingly since this item is only 24" long however it's sharp, cuts in both direction and has some solid straps to hold it. Having extra teeth means it cuts faster, but it also means you will encounter more resistance from the wood. This is not a problem IMHO because i'm stronger than most and can easily saw through reasonable size branches with it. It won't replace a chain saw for large jobs unless you are that strong but for its size and portability is essential to any wilderness tool. You can do alot with this saw.

I'm using this saw for trimming limbs 30 to 50 ft above ground. Getting the rope onto the correct limb is a tougher challenge then cutting the limb. The teeth bite into the limb efficiently. When the limb starts sagging then it can get pinched. So far have been able to free, by working rope at an angle, but lesser teeth may be of benefit under this example. Technique is all important. I'm very happy with this saw.

I live in a wooded area with a very long driveway. I often have to cut or move large limbs to get my cars out. This is just what I needed.

This is exactly what I expected it to be, its nice and compact and cut alot better then I had anticipated. I cut through a torso sized log in just a min or two. I dont expect this to fell trees but for clearing out trails of broken branches and smaller logs or even to cut some firewood for camping, this is great to have on hand. This DOES require alittle manual labor so dont expect it to be like brushing your teeth. but it beats packing around a small gas chainsaw or axe.

Have not had a chance to use this saw much, but so far it works as advertised & it's a handy, lightweight item to have in your backpack. Seems to work quicker than the folding style camp saw.

We had about a 5” in diameter rotten tree branch hanging over our yard from the neighbors tree about 35’ up. It was where the kids would ride their electrical card at. Too high for a ladder to be safely on to cut. Attached a rope unto it and threw it up an over the branch. It took a half a dozen times pulling back and fourth before the chain spun over to the cutting side. Boy it really cut through the branch very quick. Outstanding saw especially for survival. Every one should have at least one in their Bug Out Bags and for each vehicle.

This saw is a must have for your truck, backpack or anything else you might find yourself in need to saw. I used it a week ago when a tree feel in the road blocking traffic. Went and got out of my truck and cut the fallen tree in half and pushed the two half's aside and went on my way. I cant tell you how well this thing cuts. Its sharp teeth cut really fast and efficient. You could easily cut down a mid size tree with this. Definitely a good buy.

I bought this to carry in my bike patrol pack, but first I needed to trim some limbs from a black gum tree my pole saw could not reach. So I tied some paracord to the handles and used a throw bag to get the saw up and over the limbs. Probably not how the makers intended it to be used, but it worked great. The teeth cut in both directions and I did not have any problem with the saw wanting to bind in the cut. The length is about right. If your material is too large you probably need a different tool. I doubt I would try this saw on anything much larger than 12 inches. If it's too large I'll just radio for a saw team.

I was surprised how well this saw cut thru a live green sapling with about a 7 inch diameter. Being a living tree, green and wet it took more effort on my part then if it had been a dead branch but still worked well.

I used this the other day and it is amazing. There is very little effort needed to saw through branches. We sawed branches up to 2" thick with minimal effort. The only problem was when we got to the end and the branch started to compress against the saw. This is typical of all chain saws. It can either be finished with a pruner or someone can hold the branch up while finishing the cut. I would recommend this as a simple and easy tool to use.

This chain saw is great for a backpack and works well has good handles.
For my intended use it did not work as I was trying to cut a high tree branch by toeing small ropes to handles but the cutting teeth were on opposite side of branch with no way of flipping over. It would be great if had cutting teeth on both sides
Still give it 5 stars as the handles are well made and price is reasonable compared to making one yourself out of a normal chainsaw blade.

Bought this for my son to use in the woods around our house. He loves it. Easy to use, cuts well through small branches, lots of fun for him. Would buy again.

I was sceptical when I saw how small and felt how lightweight this thing was, but I am pleasantly surprised now that I have tried it. I just cut 7 trees and branches, each1 to 2 inch diameter, in just minutes. I am in my 60s, without a lot of upper body strength, and I was able to handle the task easily The cutting edges are very sharp. Perfect for my needs.

I bought this product for use on the Colorado Trail, since it is lighter, cheaper, and has more blades than the official CT one. I am halfway through the trail and have only used the product once. We used it to cut through a branch blocking the trail from a recently fallen tree. The branch was about 6" think but this chainsaw cut through it like butter. Neither of us were sore and the whole ordeal took less than 10 minutes. Thanks Homyall for a great product!

Worked as expected right out of the package. Best cutting performance with one person on each handle. Lightweight and fits nicely into my hydration pack. Use for clearing trees off of mountain biking & hiking trails. It cut right through a ~9in diameter solid oak.

I am very happy with the pocket saw I purchased. I'm an endurance athlete and hike and pack in so having a saw that durable, lightweight and quick and easy to use is important to me.

I ordered this chainsaw based on the review/rating and found it performed very well. I used this saw mainly to cut over grown branches of a tall tree. Very well made and works as advertised. Satisfied with the purchase.

I bought this to cut down a dead manzanita bush that was in a tight space next to a mail box. This worked perfectly. Took about ten minutes to remove the ugly dead bush that looked like a Halloween prop the mail truck had to drive around - my mail lady will be so happy when she arrives!

this thing is awesome!!!! Perfect for packing on a hike or camping trip, super lightweight and compact and cuts like a hot knife through butter
Great gift for anyone outdoorsy

The last rope chain saw with fewer teeth would bind and get stuck before getting the limb cut , i would buy this rope chain saw again works great i have cut 3 tree limbs with it and neither time did it stick would buy it again
